Plan Your Visit

Planning Your First Visit

In addition to offering a facility that features state-of-the-art technology wrapped in a warm and inviting environment, we here at Royal Dental Care would like to discuss your first visit to our office so you will be armed with all the information you need. Like our comfortable environment, we do this to help lessen any stress or concern you might have regarding your first visit to our office.

Expect your initial visit to last approximately an hour, and it will be time well spent. We use this time to get to know you better and to establish a treatment option that will best meet your dental needs.

We will gather information regarding your dental history as well as give you the time to prepare and complete all relevant insurance and health information forms. Other forms will provide you with information about our office and answer any questions that you may have.

The professionals here at Royal Dental Care believe that superior dental care comes from an open line of communication, and we guarantee that when you schedule an appointment, we will always be completely honest when discussing your dental care and treatment options.

Keeping your teeth, gums, and jaw joints healthy is our common goal, so call to schedule an appointment today, or click the “Schedule Online” button to begin your path to dental health. Always be sure to visit our “Special Offers” page to discover what patient specials we are currently offering.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern, such as high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, diabetes that might require antibiotics, or if you are on any medication like heart medications, anticoagulant therapy, or aspirin.

If you have had dental x-rays taken within the last 12 months, please let us know before your examination so we can help you request your dental records.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to my first dental appointment?

We welcome you to our Royal Dental Care location! During your first meeting with your dentist, you’ll get a great deal of information. We want to ensure you are ready for that. We encourage you to download all of the patient forms found on this website, fill them out, and bring them in to save time. If you have been to another dentist recently, we encourage you to bring copies of your medical and dental records with you as well.

Does Royal Dental Care treat children?

We’re a family dentist office. That means we welcome all adults and children into our office. We encourage you to bring your child in for his or her first appointment after the age of six months.

When should I arrive for my appointment ?

Please aim to be at your dental appointment 15 minutes early. When possible, we will take patients early so you can be on your way faster.

How long will my first appointment last?

The care we provide is specific to each patient. Your appointment length will range from 45 minutes to up to an hour and a half, depending on what we need to do for you.

What if I have an emergency?

Don’t put off getting the dental care you need. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, we encourage you to call our offices immediately. We are available on Saturdays, and we are open many holidays as well. If you need help for an emergency, we will do our best to make accommodations for you in our schedule.

What's the difference between DDS and DMD?

A Doctor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Dental Medicine are two types of dental degrees you will see represented. A DDS and DMD are the same degree and those who obtain either type receive the same education and have graduated from an accredited college. Both complete extensive training, education, and must sit for dental exams to obtain licensing. And, there are continuing education requirements in all areas here.

Does Royal Dental Care accept dental insurance?

We accept most major forms of dental insurance. We encourage you to call our office first before your appointment so we can verify your insurance coverage. We can check benefits at this time and help you to know what the expected out of pocket cost is before your appointment as well.

Are payment plans available for dental treatment?

We want you to get the care you need. Royal Dental Care does offer affordable rates, and we offer payment options that meet most people’s needs. We encourage you to consider Care Credit as well as low-interest in-office Epic Dental coverage. These are payment plans that can help you meet your needs.

What's a covered benefit?

A covered benefit is a type of procedure or treatment that your dental plan will pay for at least to some level. It is listed on your policy and recognized as a coverage available to you.

What's optional treatment?
An optional treatment is one that your dental insurance provider does not outright cover. It is not necessarily optional for your oral health, though. Keep in mind that optional treatments may not be on your fee schedule or in your dental insurance plan. Or, they may be only covered at a minimum level. They may be more than the minimum to restore your oral health to its original function.
What's the difference between indemnity, PPP, HMO & discount insurance plans?

We encourage you to take a closer look at the coverage you have. In an indemnity or traditional insurance plan, the policy will reimburse dentists at the Usual, Customary, and Reasonable Fee level. When you choose this type of dental plan, you can go to any dental office without being limited.

A Preferred Provider Organization is the more common option. In this type of plan, you will need to choose your dental care from a group of dentists that are listed on that plan. This group has agreed to a lower fee.

An HMO is yet another option. It is designed to provide members with a basic care at the lowest rate. Those who participate in it will receive a monthly capitation check for those patients who visit that location. Fees are lower here, but the patient will be responsible for paying the dental care provider.
